Multicultural Neuronorms
locally valid, globally accessible
WHO WE ARE
Our mission is to ensure access to normative data for accurate neuropsychological assessments in diverse populations.
Apples to Apples is a groundbreaking initiative at the intersection of neuropsychology and information technology. By addressing critical gaps in normative data, we aim to create a more equitable and effective framework for evaluating brain-behavior functioning across the lifespan.
OUR STORY
Beginning in Cambridge MA, USA and flourishing at the University of Évora, Portugal
Driven by the need to modernize neuropsychology and frustrated by the use of culturally limited normative datasets, we envision a future where individuals from across the globe benefit from culturally relevant evaluations and research that is globally representative.
Jessica Boyatt, PsyD
Founder of Apples to Apples, Lda
Dr. Jessica Boyatt grew up in the USA, Mexico, and Chile. Since obtaining her doctorate in 2008, she has worked as a clinical neuropsychologist, psychotherapist, and teacher.
In order to use her expertise to amplify and expand equitable evaluation and treatment, Dr. Boyatt founded Quetzalli Zephyr, Inc. in January 2022 to provide culturally centered neuropsychological evaluations in Boston, USA. That year her team started CoMadres Quetzalli, a mothers group co-created with low-income families in Oaxaca, Mexico. In 2023, Dr. Boyatt initiated the creation of a training program in Spanish for The Newborn Behavioral Observations (NBO™) for Spanish-speaking clinicians worldwide.
Dr. Boyatt's educational path includes a Bachelor’s in Latin American Studies, Magna Cum Laude from Brown University, a master’s in photography from Ohio University where she was awarded the Leica Medal of Excellence for a documentary on African Americans In Appalachia, and a doctorate in clinical psychology with a project entitled The Relational Synapse connecting mirror neuron research to relational psychoanalytic theory.
Jessica enjoys dancing, hiking, and being still while absorbing nature.

Luiza Kramer
• Design & Product Strategy
Luiza is a Brazilian designer whose career has moved between worlds — from crafting brand identities, packaging for global clients, and designing exhibitions for art museums, to leading product and UX strategy across healthcare, insurance, and telecom. Along the way, she co-founded a healthtech startup and scaled design teams from the ground up.
At Apples to Apples, she brought both sides of that experience: building the brand's identity and voice from scratch, and designing the platform with a holistic view of the experience. Passionate about understanding how people think, behave, and make decisions, she works to shape interactions for researchers and clinicians that are clear, meaningful, and well-crafted.
Luiza lives in the Bay Area with her family. She brings cultural awareness and a deep belief that the best work happens when diverse perspectives are in the room. And she is especially excited about what emerges at the intersection of design leadership, emerging technology, and products that genuinely improve people's lives.
